Bio
From a young age Gavin showed a keen visual interest in the world around him, encouraged by a strong artistic flair that runs through his family.
Following his studies in art, photography and graphic design at the Nelson Mandela University, he pursued a long and successful career in the advertising business as an art/creative director. Gavin says. “The variation and creativity of visual material and conceptual ideas required in this profession has influenced my painting and photography significantly”.
Creativity runs deep, and from painting directly in nature (en plein air) to creating unique, colourful, 2-dimensional abstract pieces in the studio, is where Gavin is in his artistic element.
Gavin believes success is achieving a timelessness in one’s work, and one in which buyers and collectors, never tire of the visual enjoyment experienced.
Gavin is a professional artist based in Cape Town, South Africa and is represented by a number of art galleries in the Cape Town area. Seventy percent of his work sold in the last 2 years has been to international buyers.
